For more than 20 years, Zachary Sahar, CPA, has advised founders, business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals on complex tax matters, long-term tax strategies and financial planning. He earned his accounting degree from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, with an emphasis in entrepreneurship, before beginning his career at KPMG and later Arthur Andersen.
His experience extends beyond traditional public accounting. Zachary also worked with Merrill Lynch, gaining insight into the relationship between investment decisions, wealth creation, and tax strategy. That perspective continues to shape his approach: helping clients understand how tax decisions can influence long-term net worth outcomes.
He brings three disciplines to every client engagement: the technical rigor developed in public accounting, the operational discipline of General Electric’s Six Sigma culture, and the firsthand experience of building a business from the ground up.
Those disciplines shaped how Capital Tax was built—its culture, its standards, and the way every member of the team is trained to think about a client’s tax and financial situation. Precision and systems thinking aren’t Zachary’s personal approach. They’re the firm’s.
Today, Zachary advises founders, business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals on proactive tax strategy, equity compensation, business planning, and long-term wealth preservation.”
